Be a friend of Soibada

Through friendship lives are changed

What is
Friends of Soibada?

Our mission is to build a supportive relationship with Soibada, a small region in remote Timor Leste. First and foremost we aim to be the bridge that links two communities, Soibada and the Northern Beaches of Sydney. With the solidification of a firm friendship between these two communities, Friends of Soibada has been able to support the Soibada community in many areas, including but not limited to: health and medical, education and teaching, arts and crafts, and infrastructure and community planning.

To continue our mission we need your help!

Friends of Soibada has many plans for future efforts to support the community of Soibada. We depend entirely on donations from the local community.

Volunteer Story - Scott

Scott, a high school teacher from Sydney’s Northern Beaches, has travelled to Soibada four times. As our Education Director, he works closely with local teachers and students, sharing knowledge, building resources, and creating sustainable opportunities for young people.

His strong connection to Soibada reflects his belief that education is the key to empowerment, and his ongoing commitment continues to strengthen ties between the two communities.

Navigate to our contact page to fill out the form to let us know that you are interested in volunteering.
